How to decorate our coin holders
Here we offer some helpful tips on how to decorate our coin holders and also what not to do to ensure the coins fit in after painting
WHAT YOU NEED
STEP ONE- Paint the front of the tree
STEP TWO
**TOP TIP** We advising using a foam pad brush as this will stop any paint from going into the holes like it would using a brush. SEE BELOW VIDEO
If you get any paint in the holes this can cause the coins not to fit as the hole will be made smaller if paint is added to the wooden hole
STEP THREE- Paint the star with a small paint brush
STEP FOUR - with one coat of each colour applied
Apply 2-3 more coats of paint until you get the desired coverage
STEP FIVE - Paint the backing plaque in the colour of your choice
STEP SIX - Apply 2 coats of acrylic paint
STEP SEVEN -Apply a glitter paint to the star
we are using glamour dust for a sparkly finish
STEP EIGHT - Leave to dry
STEP NINE -Apply a glitter paint to the backing plaque
We are using twinkles for a full glittery effect
No need to apply paint to the very edge. Just make sure the areas where the holes will be are covered
STEP TEN - Top and backing plaque finished
STEP ELEVEN - Apply wood glue to the back of the front section
STEP TWELVE - Put the two pieces together, wipe away any excess glue from around the edges and leave to dry
