Twinkles glitter, Glamour dust and Loose Glitter samples
We wanted to show you the difference between Twinkles Glitter and Glamour Dust which are two great glitter paints that we have available for you to purchase and decorate your wooden items with. We also wanted to show you loose glitter so you can see the different effects of all 3 when applied to our wooden items.

Twinkles glitter is a fantatsic all purpose non-toxic, water based glitter paint ideal for adding that sparkle to your items.
It is clear liquid based paint with larger flakes of glitter in a variety of shades to add a lovely sparkle and shine to your projects.
We definately advise using a similar colour acrylic paint as an under coat as this will one, help to limit the amount of coats you need to apply and also give a nice base coat to intensify the colour.
It is miles better than your standard glitter glue as you can see from our photos and you can achieve a variety of looks from just a little sparkle to full on coverage depending on how many coats you apply. Be sure to let each coat fully dry before re applying your next coat
As its water based your brush is easily cleanable with water too!
We feel when applying an undercoat of coloured acrylic paint and one coat of twinkles this gives a lovely minimal glitter effect allowing the base colour to show through due to the clear base colour among the glitter. When applying multiple layers this gives a lovely bolder glittery sparkle to your makes like the photo below.

Glamour Dust - Available HERE
Glamour Dust is a ultra fine water based, non - toxic glitter paint. Ideal for adding subtle shimmer and shine to your items.
It is different to twinkles in the fact it is has a coloured paint base rather than clear, with ultra fine flakes of multi tone glitter.
Again we advise using a similar colour acrylic as a base coat and you can build up the coverage with the amount of coats you apply.
It is also water based so your brushes are easy cleanable with water
We feel when applying one coat of Glamour Dust it gives a slight shimmer whilst also colouring due to the colour pigment amongst the glitter. When applying multiple coats of Glamour Dust the shimmer will intensify like the photo below.

Loose Glitter
Although we don't sell loose glitter we thought we share our experience to give you the 3 different effects. We would say loose glitter is good if you want a solid full on block glitter coverage.
After trying various glitters we have found the best is ultra fine glitter (not childrens glitter or any sort of really chunky/large flaked glitter)
We have found as well as in certain craft shops and websites you can use ultra fine glitter that is on ebay and used for nail art, this is perfect.
You can use glue such as wood glue, pva or modge podge to apply to the area you want to cover, apply the glitter and shake off any access. Once dry you can seal with either a layer of pva glue , mod podge or lacquer spray which we have available on the website. Just follow the links by clicking on the relevant words
We feel when using ultra fine loose glitter this give a strong, solid, bold, sparkle and shine in one application like the photo below. Remeber loose glitter is transferable and does need to be sealed correctly to prevent this as mentioned above. Plus it can be messy to apply! so we do highly recommend Twinkles Glitter or Glamour Dust paints aswell :)
Prepare your item with a coat of similar coloured paint (this applies for all glitter types and glitter paints)
Apply a layer of pva glue to the area you want to glitter
Shake off any excess glitter and leave to dry
Once dry you can then seal with lacquer spray, mod podge or pva glue
